The 13th round of games in Liga BBVA finished with a narrow victory for Rayo Vallecano away to UD Almería. It was a game with both sides on the front foot, with a number of chances being created.
The game started at breakneck speed, with Francisco Rodríguez’s men taking the initiative, taking advantage of Thievy Bifouma Koulossa’s speed to create danger for their visitors. Rayo also worked the home side’s defence, however the best chance of the first 45 fell to Almería’s Jonathon Zongo after 20 minutes and Tomer Hemed on 37'.
After the restart there was more of the same. The Andalusian outfit created danger through the electric Thievy, while Paco Jémez’s men went close as Gaël Kakuta saw a one-on-one saved by former Rayo goalkeeper Rubén Martínez.
With the match destined for a draw, Kakuta then stunned the home crowd after great combination play between Alberto Bueno and Manucho. With this result Almería remain on 10 points in 17th, while Rayo move up to 10th with 17 points.
