Born 25 years ago in Betim, a small municipality in the Brazilian region of Belo Horizonte, he has goal-scoring in his blood. Jonathas de Jesus, one of Elche CF’s new signings for the 2014-15 season, has become one of the footballers of the moment in the Liga BBVA and the new idol at the Martínez Valero Stadium. His excellent start to the season, with six goals in the first twelve matchdays, has been an impeccable debut.
Power, physicality and rare finishing ability are the best weapons of this striker who is aspiring to define an era at Elche. His impact on the Franjiverdes has been total and immediate, with his six goals earning eight points for Fran Escribá’s side. As if that were not enough, he has scored half of his team’s goals and, right now, he is the best rookie in the competition this season.
The 'LFP.es, in depth' team, which will travel to the Anoeta Stadium to experience the clash between Real Sociedad and Elche, analyses the qualities of the Brazilian forward in this video.
