I distinctly remember the first time we were invited to LaLiga Awards Gala. It made us really happy because although we are also sportswomen, we are not accustomed to everything around football. Our world is so similar and so different at the same time!
It was amazing to see the atmosphere, be part of that party and took part in an initiative that gives visibility to other minority sports like ours. We also attend to the annual gala of our Federation, but to go on stage of LaLiga´s Gala and shine among many footballers it was a different experience.
We fondly keep the photo that we took with Cristiano Ronaldo, and we talked with Carles Puyol. He congratulated us and recognized us as the Water Polo girls! That's what more stimulated us, to be recognized as athletes and to be encouraged by them like any other fan.
LaLiga gave us visibility and made us feel appreciated with the presentation of an award. I remember we thought that it was wonderful. The atmosphere, flashes, people ... Everything impressed us. And we will look forward to return this year.
