Javier Tebas, president of Laliga, and Christian Lapetra, Real Zaragoza’s president, appeared at a press conference following the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Zaragoza on Friday.

Lapetra thanked Laliga for holding the Assembly in Zaragoza. Meanwhile, Javier Tebas praised the work of Real Zaragoza. "It's a club that two years ago were in a catastrophic situation and thanks to the people who are in charge of it, has institutionally improved." LaLiga's president also added that "being in this city with all the clubs is a tribute to the people who were involved with Real Zaragoza to get the project underway".

On the issues raised during the Extraordinary General Assembly, Javier Tebas explained that the addendum to the Coordination Agreement signed between the RFEF and LaLiga on 11 November 2015, to continue with the commercialization of audiovisual rights of the Copa del Rey for another season, had been ratified. In addition, the President reported the ratification of the collective agreement signed with the AFE on 9 October 2015, and LaLiga's Code of Ethics.

Tebas also stressed that the Assembly had approved the sharing model for rights generated by the sale of football. "The 25 percent of the variable amount established in Liga BBVA and the 15 percent in Liga Adelante will be distributed according to criteria of collaboration for the development of audiovisual rights", said the president. "We were all agreed that we share on the basis of the audiences, and LaLiga also proposed to take into account the conditions of the stadiums from a televisual point of view". Javier Tebas said that "the final distribution arrangement is equitable. Personally I do not see the egalitarian criteria in the Premier League and in the Bundesliga as fair, here we must work to create a global competition".

Christian Lapetra expressed his views about a distribution model in which "we have to fight to be among the best teams in order to have that variable. We are an attractive club and if we can be even more so, we will benefit.” Real Zaragoza’s president further explained that "this benefit will depend on what we are able to do in the years to come.”

Asked about the absence of Real Madrid CF from the Assembly, the President of LaLiga explained that "they notified us that they could not come and have delegated their vote." In addition, the President responded on his relationship with the RFEF. "There is no conflict between Laliga and the RFEF, I personally think that their leaders are harmful to the Spanish football".

On the subject of LaLiga’s other Aragonese club, SD Huesca, Javier Tebas said: "it is an economically healthy club that will remain so through the economic control of Laliga," adding that he hoped: "they can achieve their goal for this season."
