LaLiga headquarters hosted this Wednesday October 21 the signing of the collaboration agreement for the management of aid to sports federations. By this agreement, such entities without professional competition will receive, through the mediation of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), six million euros for better development of Spanish sport.

The event was attended by the President of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, the president of CSD, Miguel Cardenal, and other presidents such as the Spanish Association of Sports Federations (AFEDES), Julián Gª Angulo, the president of the Confederation of Olympic Federations (COFEDE), Jesus Castellanos, and the Federated Association of Spanish Sport, Jose Hidalgo, and representatives from 60 federations.

"It's very important day for Spanish sport and football in particular", said Javier Tebas during the event. LaLiga’s President stressed the importance of clubs for the signing of the agreement: "The agreement signed with the CSD was created by the will of all clubs from LaLiga". The Executive Committee and the Assembly have ratified it unanimously".  In addition, the senior executive of LaLiga stressed that the agreement is not reduced to an economic amount of six million, but many more areas of cooperation: "All our departments are open to collaborate with the Federations, who will also help to promote LaLiga both nationally and internationally. Through the athletes we will try that LaLiga’s brand will reach every corner of the world”.

In the same vein Miguel Cardenal continued: "The fruitfulness of the alliance with LaLiga goes beyond specific amounts, it will also provide opportunities for partnerships and synergies for all major sports". Cardenal stressed the unity between the federations over the years, key to achieving goals, and the strong ties that have been established with professional football.

CSD´s president clarified the way for economic distribution: "It will be a linear distribution in proportion to what each Federation has received in the regular distribution of CSD". Javier Tebas also explained the use of the six million euros: "On one hand it will be for the preparation of elite athletes ahead of the Olympics and other competitions, and secondly, for those federations with economic problems that have to reduce their debt”.

LaLiga´s president summoned all present to a meeting in a year in which it will analyze whether they have met the targets set in a historic day for Spanish sport.
