Smiling and full of energy. So Asier Illarramendi (Gipuzkoa, March 8, 1990) receives LaLiga.es days before returning to the Santiago Bernabeu, which was his home for two seasons with Real Madrid. Now, back at Real Sociedad and close to his family and friends, the midfielder 'txuri-urdin' tells us exclusively and from his native Mutriku, how he is facing this new stage, his day to day and what are the challenges of the Donostiarra team for 2016.
“I’m happy to be back home and wear Real Sociedad shirt again, to play in Anoeta and feel the support of the people," said Illarramendi, who also confesses that "it would be nice to take the skipper´s armband of Real Sociedad someday".
While showing us the most emblematic areas of the town where he grew up, the Basque player also remembers his time in the capital. "I've matured a lot in these two years. When I left here I was just a kid from the academy, but now, after passing through the Real Madrid, I put more pressure on myself," assured.
