RC Celta forward Iago Aspas has been named the LaLiga Santander Player of the Month for November. The Spain international received the accolade thanks to his impressive displays for the Galician outfit throughout the month.
Aspas racked up three goals in a month that saw Celta win two of their three league games and shoot up the league table. The 30-year-old was the hero against Athletic Club, with a four-minute brace steering Celta to a 3-1 victory over the Basques, and notched the winner in the 1-0 success over CD Leganes. The Spaniard also got on the scoresheet in the 1-0 win over SD Eibar that sealed the team's place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. It's not just the striker's goals that make him such a key figure, but his leadership qualities are also vitally important for the club.
This season, LaLiga has added a new dimension to the awarding of the Player of the Month accolade, bringing fans closer to the action of the best league in the world. This will see Iago Aspas collect the award in front of the Balaidos faithful, before his side's match against Villarreal CF.
