Success opens the scoring

The two relegation rivals spent the opening minutes of the game sizing each other up. However, as the half went on it was Granada who started to dominate possession and take control of the game, leading to Isaac Success opening the scoring at Los Carmenes. The forward skinned David Navarro for pace to go through one-on-one with Diego Mariño, beating him to make it 1-0 on 25 minutes.

Spot kick

Youssef El Arabi headed the ball onto Verza's arm, and the referee awarded Granada a penalty. The Granada striker then stepped up to the spot to double his side's lead just 10 minutes after the deadlock had been broken. El Arabi dedicated the goal to Dimitri Foulquier, who is out injured, and he has now scored a total of 11 this season.

Granada achieve complete domination

Two goals to the good, Granada continued to push forward in search of a third. They made themselves lords and masters of the ball at Los Carmenes and it was not long before their domination paid off. On the stroke of half time, with 44 minutes played, Success picked the pocket of Jefferson Lerma before heading to the by-line and pulling the ball back for Ruben Rochina to make it 3-0.

Andres Fernandez

Granada went most of the game without conceding and Andres Fernandez was the one who deserved most of the credit. The Rojiblancos keeper was on cue when it counted to maintain Granada's lead. The clearest chances for their opponents were two shots by Deyverson which Fernandez saved in the 65th and 68th minutes.

Whirlwind finale

Levante managed to grab a consolation thanks to a lovely Ruben Garcia strike from outside the box on 82 minutes, causing the visitors to step things up a gear. But Granada struck again. And again. El Arabi scored another two – one from the penalty spot and another in a one-on-one in which he beat Mariño with a sublime finish. Levante ended the game with 10 men after Simao was sent off for a second bookable offence. The game finished 5-1, giving Granada three golden points in their bid to escape the drop.
