Godín, Liga BBVA player of the month for April

Club Atlético de Madrid defender Diego Godín has been awarded the BBVA player of the month award for April in Liga BBVA by the Liga de Fútbol Profesional's principle sponsor.

Atlético de Madrid's sensational season has seen many of their players recognised. One of their key men is withoubt doubt Diego Godín. The Uruguay international has played 32 games in the league, and is one of the players who has played the most minutes under Diego Pablo Simeone.

His fourth season as a Red and Whites player has been one in which they've fought for two titles. Atlético lead the league table with two games to go, and will also play the UEFA Champions League final in Lisbon against city neighbours Real Madrid CF. Two titles that would add to the UEFA Europa League he won with the club in 2011/12 and the European Supercups of 2010 and 2012.
