Getafe CF beat RC Celta 2-1 in the final game of the 20th round of Liga BBVA fixtures. It is the first win for Quique Sánchez Flores at the club, 10 games after their last league win.
There were a lot of chances for both sides in an entertaining first half. The visitors went ahead, taking advantage of a sloppy throw in as Charles beat Jordi Codina. Only four minutes later the scores were even as the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez outfit drew level thanks to a left footed thunderbolt from Álvaro Vázquez. The home side wanted to go into the break leading, however Pablo Sarabia and Jorge Sammir both spurned their chances.
After the restart, both sides continued to attack. Getafe took control of the ball and almost took the lead as Vázquez shaved Sergio Álvarez's post. With half an hour gone in the second half, the referee awarded a penalty for handball, however Diego Castro saw his effort crash back off the bar. The Madrid outfit did not give up, and got their reward after Sammir played in Sarabia to make it 2-1 and give his side the three points.
