Game set and match for Celta at Balaídos

RC Celta downed Rayo Vallecano 6-1 in Matchday 31 of Liga BBVA. Joaquín Larrivey, with a double, and Santi Mina, with four, were the star performers on a dream night for the side from Vigo.

The Vallecas side went ahead in the first minute thanks to a Manucho strike after 40 seconds. It was the first of seven that the Estadio de Balaídos would see. Larrivey levelled up after 6', and Santi Mina made it 2-1 after 20' thanks to Nolito's second assist of the night. The Galician side continued to dominate, and despite Paco Jémez's double substitution, two more Celta goals were coming. The Celeste's forward line again were in form after 37' and 40'.

Rayo tried to take the initiative in the second half, however a fifth goal for the hosts arrived after 50', with Santi Mina completing his hat trick. Soon after Mina bagged his fourth of the night and his side's sixth to put the gloss on a 6-1 scoreline that helps the Vigo outfit leapfrog Rayo in the table.
