  • They are based at the 10,181-capacity Estadio Francisco de la Hera, which replaced the old stadium by the same name that was located on the site. It is named after the historic president of the ground's former occupants CF Extremadura, who lost 3-0 to Real Betis in the inaugural game at the current arena.
  • They were founded in 2007 and became the Extremadura region's main club in 2010, when CF Extremadura folded.
  • 2018/19 will mark Extremadura UD's maiden campaign in LaLiga 1|2|3. The club sealed promotion to the second tier by getting the better of two big names, FC Cartagena and CD Mirandes, in the Segunda B playoffs.
  • Enric Gallego is one of the club's main men. After joining in the 2017/18 winter transfer window, the forward led from the front and spearheaded the charge to help them reach LaLiga 1|2|3.
  • Another of their key figures is Juan Sabas, who was the architect behind the club's promotion charge. Having been appointed with Extremadura UD in sixth place with two matches remaining in the regular season, the coach guided them to wins over Merida AD and Betis Deportivo (Betis's reserve team) to secure the final playoff spot. The rest is history and he will now manage the club in LaLiga 1|2|3.
