  • Carcedo worked alongside Unai Emery as his assistant coach for 14 seasons, forging a successful partnership on the bench for big clubs in LaLiga like UD Almeria, Valencia CF and Sevilla FC. Aside from collaborating off the field in coaching, they also coincided as players at CD Leganes.
  • In their first season as part of UD Almeria’s coaching staff they achieved a landmark promotion to LaLiga Santander. The following campaign in 2007/08 was even more impressive, with Emery and Carcedo leading Los Rojiblancos to an eighth-placed finish, an impressive achievement taking into account that it was the club’s maiden experience in the Spanish top flight.
  • UD Ibiza is the first club that Carcedo has worked at as head coach. The Logroño-born manager has far exceeded expectations, helping Los Celestes reach LaLiga SmartBank. In fact, the 2021/22 season will be the first time the club has played in the Spanish second division in only its sixth year of existence. It’s set to be quite a challenge for the 47-year-old.
  • After coming through the ranks at RCD Espanyol, Carcedo played as a midfielder until a knee injury forced him into early retirement aged 33. Starting out at the RCD Espanyol and Atletico de Madrid academies, he went on to play professionally for CD Leganes and UD Las Palmas, among other teams.
  • Injury led to Carcedo hanging up his boots in 2006, after which he embarked on his foray into coaching, joining UD Las Palmas’s backroom staff. It was there he got his first taste of assistant management, firstly under the wings of Josip Visnjic, and subsequently Juanito Rodríguez.
