With every passing week, the excitement surrounding the Santander Adrenalyn Challenge by LaLiga eSports, one of the two major electronic sports projects launched by LaLiga, grows ever keener and there are now just a further two tournaments to be played in the online phase of the competition.
The sixth of the eight qualifying tournaments took place this past weekend, with a ticket to the finals – to be played in person at Gamergy 2018, Spain's premier eSports event – on the line.
This time round it was La Situacion, the runner-up in the previous tournament, who took the spoils after recording a 2-0 aggregate victory over Uvedederde. Meanwhile, DUITAMA secured third place following a 2-0 win over ZABALIVE in their playoff.
The seventh online tournament will be staged this coming weekend, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May. These qualifying events will continue every Saturday until 19 May, when the online phase's eighth and final tournament will begin, and the eight winners will go through to the final phase, to be contested at Gamergy between 22 and 24 June.
At Gamergy, Spain's biggest eSports and gaming festival, eight in-person open tournaments will be played to determine the gamers who will face off against the champions from the online phase. This final field of 16 will compete against one another in a gripping final that will take place during the event.
