RCD Espanyol will have a tough challenge against Real Madrid CF on matchday 19 of the Liga BBVA when the two sides meet in the Estadio Cornellà - El Prat. Javier Aguirre's men have not beaten the Whites in the Liga BBVA since the 20th of October 2007, when they won 2-1.
The home team, who are looking to return to winning ways in the competition, will be without striker Sergio García and midfielder David López for the vital match, but defenders Héctor Fuentes and Víctor Sánchez return to the fold. "We are going to play our style of football, in the conditions we have created throughout the year and we will be trying to win", stated Alfredo Tena, the team's assistant coach.
For their part, the third-place team come to Barcelona without Jesé Rodríguez, who picked up a muscle injury midweek in the Copa del Rey. "It will be a difficult match where we will have to try to be at our best to win", noted Real Madrid's Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
