Team News:

- RCD Espanyol: Papakouli Diop (international duty).

- RC Deportivo: Carles Gil (injured); Faycal Fajr (international duty).

Match Facts:

RCD Espanyol (9th, 22 pts):

-Despite defeat to FC Barcelona (4-1) in their last LaLiga Santander fixture, RCD Espanyol remain a tough proposition at home where they are unbeaten in their last five matches. The Catalans are also undefeated in their last seven home league clashes with the Galicians (6 wins and 1 draw).

-"I hope that the team put in a good game on their return and show themselves to be a tough, solid side. We want to start with another win to reaffirm the team's impressive form and push us forward going into the second half of the season," said goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez.

RC Deportivo (15th, 16 pts):

-"We have yet to win on the road and hope that the new year brings us a change of fortune and a run of good results. That's very important for us," said the RC Deportivo boss.

-Deportivo will be counting on Florin Andone, whose impressive form of late has made him a key man in their attacking line. The Romanian forward has played a part in at least one goal in his last six appearances in LaLiga Santander (6 goals and 1 assist).
