Elche’s return to the Liga BBVA is not just a chance for the club to keep fans happy from a footballing perspective, but is also an opportunity to help and collaborate with some of the most disadvantaged sectors of society. In order to do so, a percentage of gate receipts will go towards the ECF Solidario (ECF Solidarity) project.
The club has adopted the motto ‘15 matches, 15 causes’ for the project which will also accept voluntary donations at the various points around the Martínez Valero stadium. What’s more, 0.5% of total gate receipts during the season will go towards organisations that help the disadvantaged.
As well as that, Elche has also created a ‘Solidarity Stand’ for home games. This section of the stadium will be reserved for children at risk of social exclusion, students from disadvantaged areas of Alicante, children under care at Generalitat Valenciana centres and young hospital patients in Baix, Medio Vinalopó and Vega Baja.
