Real Madrid play hosts to SD Eibar on matchday 31 of the Liga BBVA. The Basques come into this game on the back of beating Málaga CF (1-0) in their last outing, while the team from the Spanish capital need to pick up another three points if they are to be in with a chance of lifting the title.

Carlo Ancelotti will be without Toni Kroos and James Rodríguez, who are both suspended due to an accumulation of bookings. Gareth Bale is out for this game as well because of a sprained muscle, while Fábio Coentrão and Sami Khedira are also injured. Meanwhile, Gaizka Garitano will have to make do without Ángel Rodríguez, who is still recovering after an appendicitis operation, and Eneko Bóveda, who is suspended.

Carlo Ancelotti has stated that his team "have a lot of respect for Eibar", and also said that his players "have to win if they want to have a chance of lifting the title". Elsewhere, Gaizka Garitano has declared that his side will travel to the Bernabéu "eager to compete". He also clearly outlined how his players will approach the game: "We know we’re travelling to a tough ground, both I'm only concerned about the three points on offer. We have to try and win them".
