SD Eibar began the 2015/16 Liga BBVA in style, beating Granada CF 1-3 in the game that closed the first match day of the championship.

Review the key points of the match:

The emergence of Adrian

Adrian Gonzalez made his debut with Eibar in the best possible way, scoring the first goal with a great left shot inside the box. The Basque team dominated the opening stages of the match, but it wasn´t until the 21 minutes, with the goal scored by the "madrileño" midfielder, when they managed to translate that superiority to the scoreboard.

Luna's impact

Another new reinforcement of Eibar, Antonio Luna, also played a key role in the game. His attacking contributions from the left hand side were a constant threat to Granada, and not only gave the assist for the first goal, he also participated in the 0-2. With another of his passes, sent to the heart of the area, Gonzalo Escalante appeared to extend the visitors' lead.

Irureta's key save

Granada struggled to reduce the gap before the break, but the keeper Xabi Irureta was decisive for the "eibarreses", who reached the half time with a two-goal lead. Irureta prevented the 1-2 with an excellent stop to a powerful shot by Youssef El Arabi.

Outnumbered

Ruben Rochina managed to make the 1-2 just at the start of the second half, giving wings to Granada. However, Salvador Ruiz sending off, shortly after, was a setback for the "Nazari" team.

Arruabarrena's finisher

José Luis Mendilibar decided to make a move in the second half to get the match back on track, bringing Mikel Arruabarrena by Adrian. The change soon pay off, as the Eibar skipper scored the final 1-3 with the first ball he touched.
