Valencia CF and Granada CF face off on matchday 33 of the Liga BBVA. Mestalla will be the backdrop for a match-up between two sides with very different targets. The hosts remain in the thick of the fight to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and must get the three points to return to fourth after Sevilla FC's win. Meanwhile, the Andalusians are out to stay in the division and need to pick up victories during the season run-in.

Team news

Valencia boss Nuno Espírito Santo will have most of his important players available, but Pablo Piatti is out through injury. The good news for the Portuguese coach is that he welcomes back Enzo Pérez and, in the end, will have Shkodran Mustafi at his disposal. However, Abel Resino will have several significant absences for his team's trip to Mestalla. The Granada chief will be without Jeison Murillo, Jean-Sylvain Babin, Eddy Silvestre, Juan Carlos and Dimitri Foulquier.

Views from the dugout

Nuno admitted that he anticipates a tough clash against Granada: "I expect a difficult team, eager to get points like we are. We know them and we’re ready for the match. I think that what's most important is how we perform in the immediate term". Meanwhile, visiting coach Resino declared that his side will be all out for the victory: "In Valencia we have to put in a great game in defence, and in attack we have to play with fluency and thrust to give it a go. We need to win".
