The Liga Adelante has a new leader. Deportivo de La Coruña reclaimed the top spot nine weeks later after beating Real Madrid Castilla in the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium, while Eibar lost in La Romareda against Real Zaragoza. The Galicians and Basques occupy the top two spots in the table, with the play-off positions taking on a new look.

Recreativo de Huelva, Las Palmas, Sporting Gijón and Tenerife occupy those spots after this weekend’s action. Barcelona B deserve a special mention, given that their status as a reserve side forbids them from entry to the Liga BBVA. Despite that handicap, the Catalans still put on a fine display in a 3-0 win against Numancia.. Among the various performances from teams looking for promotion, Recreativo and Tenerifes’ wins particularly stood out. Both sides made the most of their home advantages to keep their hopes of promotion alive.

In the bottom half of the table, Alcorcón won at home for the first time since September after beating Las Palmas. Goals by Babin and Sergio Mora allow the Madrid side to climb out of the relegation zone and breath a bit easier ahead of the final part of the season. Castilla, Ponferradina, Girona and Alavés weren’t as fortunate, and close out the weekend in the drop zone.

It was a good weekend for Lugo as well, with the Galicians bouncing back from a defeat against Sabadell in their last match with a win to move into ninth. They did so against Mallorca, who have so far failed in their mission to reach the play-off positions, and currently lie in eleventh place. Real Murcia also climbed the table thanks to a win over Sabadell, who finish the weekend in eighth.
