Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Athletic Club
Athletic Club beat Borussia Dortmund on German soil thanks to a first-half goal from Susaeta and some world-class goalkeeping from Gorka Iraizoz. Athletic took a 20th-minute lead when Susaeta scored the only goal of the game following some impressive build-up play from the Basques. The rest of the game was an evenly-matched affair. Both sides carved out chances, but there were no further goals and the game ended 1-0. An inspired Iraizoz prevented the Germans from equalising on the stroke of half time when he saved a penalty.
CD Mensajero 0-2 UD Las Palmas
The Canary Islanders needed just 25 minutes to kill off the game with two goals in quick succession. Carlos Gonzalez broke the deadlock on 19 minutes and Benito Ramirez doubled their lead just four minutes later as the two players both put in star performances. Following the two goals, both sides looked to add more, but the game ended 2-0 as Las Palmas notched up another pre-season win.
Malaga CF 4-0 UD Almería
Juande Ramos's team's impressive performance sealed yet another pre-season win for Malaga CF. Four goals and a clean sheet highlighted the Andalusian's great pre-season form. Michael Santos kicked off the goal fest in the 4th minute. Juanpi and Charles added two more as Malaga went in 3-0 up at the break. Academy graduate Youseff En-Nesyri closed out the scoring with Malaga's fourth of the game.
RC Deportivo 2-0 Villarreal CF
Over 18,000 fans turned out to watch RC Deportivo's win over Villarreal to lift the 71st Teresa Herrera Trophy. Goals from man of the match Florin Andone and Carles Gil sealed victory for the Galician side.
