Great start by Deportivo
The Galician team started imposing a high speed, what made them find reward in the 19th minute. Lucas Perez performed a good play down the right wing, dribbling rapidly to cross the ball into the middle of the box. Cani was waiting there for an open goal, but it was David Simon who ended up putting the ball at the back of his own net.
Lucky loose ball for Las Palmas
Just before half time, Deportivo had a double chance to extend their lead. Alex Bergantiños tried his luck with a first touch strike after a corner kick and, when his shot hit the post, he had time to shoot again. This time, it was Javi Varas who stopped the ball with an amazing reflex exhibition.
Javi Varas kept the match live
In another counterattack by Lucas Perez, Luisinho was left alone against the goalkeeper with everything in his favour to kill off the game. However, the Andalusian goalkeeper kept his team in the match with another outstanding save.
Omnipresent Lucas Perez
The Deportivo footballer was essential for his team. He didn’t only create the play for the 0-1, but he was a constant threat for Las Palmas’ defenders throughout the match. The Galician used his speed once again and ran down the wing, although his goal seemed to resist. Furthermore, he ended up finding a prize to his effort in the 91st minute and this is his 4th consecutive game scoring.
Deportivo, comfortable away from home
Despite the effort by Las Palmas to turn the tables, the three points went directly to Deportivo. Victor Sanchez del Amo’s men shine away from Riazor, as we can see by their numbers. So far, the Galicians have only lost once far from their stadium, when they conceded against Malaga at La Rosaleda.
