Team News:
- RC Deportivo: Bruno Gama, Laure and Borja Valle (all injured).
- Real Sociedad: Ruben Pardo, Jon Gaztañaga, Markel Bergara, Mikel Oyarzabal and Imanol Agirretxe (all injured).
Deportivo (17th, 10 pts):
- The Galicians, who are winless in six in LaLiga Santander, have only won two of their last seven top-flight home games against Real Sociedad (D3 L2) and the last time they did so was when triumphing 2-1 back in 2011. As such, they will be seeking to put paid to two different barren spells this matchday.
- This will be a special occasion for Depor coach Gaizka Garitano, whose first-ever fixture in LaLiga Santander came against the San Sebastian outfit in August 2014. On that day, his SD Eibar side ran out 1-0 winners at Ipurua.
- The Riazor faithful will be looking to Joselu to make an impact in front of goal, with the forward having been named in a league squad for the first time in almost three months, following a long injury layoff.
Real Sociedad (6th, 23 pts):
- Eusebio's team have played some smashing stuff lately and are riding a five-game unbeaten streak in LaLiga Santander (W4 D1). They haven't gone six in a row without losing in a single season since the days of Philippe Montanier, who led them to a 13-match undefeated run that ended in April 2013.
- Willian Jose's seven LaLiga goals make him the top-scoring Brazilian in Europe's big five leagues this term.
- "We're competing well and we've got to maintain that mindset in order to keep picking up points, stay happy and remain strongly placed in the table. We're excited about the future," said an upbeat Eusebio ahead of the encounter.
