The Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) and its coach, Vicente del Bosque, have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract until 2016. The manager from Salamanca made the announcement during the press conference prior to the match against Equatorial Guinea on Saturday: "I can confirm that I have signed with the national side until 2016".
The agreement comes after the acceptance of a proposal from the RFEF, once the national side had qualified for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014. Del Bosque's decision to continue with the side means that, if everything goes according to plan, he will be in charge of the team at the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France.
The coach will always be remembered for being the first to win a World Cup with Spain. His CV also includes the European Cup that completed the consecutive Euro-World Cup-Euro treble, an unprecedented achievement in international football.
