Curtain comes down on McDonald's Virtual LaLiga eSports online phase contested by over 15,000 gamers

In the wake of four thrilling qualifying tournaments, which saw more than 15,000 contestants do battle on the ArenaGG gaming platform, we can now reveal the 30 competitors from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One categories - 15 per platform - that will contest the final stage of the McDonald's Virtual LaLiga eSports tournament. There is still one remaining place per platform up for grabs, with the final two contestants to be determined by the McDonald's Golden Pass stage, the final of which is to be held on Friday 13 April at the LaLiga headquarters.

The fourth and final online qualifying tournament took place between Tuesday 3 April and Saturday the 7th. PlayStation 4 gamers AndoniiPM and JraLion10 renewed acquaintances after they had previously gone head-to-head in the final of the third tournament, with AndoniiPM once againprevailing in a 2-0 aggregate win. Over on the Xbox One, KINGRICAR4 claimed a 2-0 success against Gravesen_1, who was making a third straight final appearance.

The 15 PlayStation 4 gamers to have sealed their places in the next round are: AndoniiPM, JraLion10, xexuatm96, Ferperry, Ranerista (representing Levante UD), Ahidalgo923, Davidsp1490, ADA Cenacarayol (AD Alcorcon), Senamorado, Tobillin, Josesalle_10 (Cadiz CF), AndresOH, Barrerinha, Galloso and JoKeeR-II.

Meanwhile, the 15 Xbox One competitors bidding for glory in the final phase are: gravesen_1, KINGRICAR4, vivi Khofolo, I 5 I zidane 10, xxLewiSKillerxx, raulflores (UD Las Palmas), IvRubianes, SergioEspier, Suso 10 (D. Alaves), El imparable77, Trasgu, DevilKane (Las Palmas), EaSy D0r0, Losyoruguas92 (Cadiz) and Xaxy_rpd.

The winner on each platform in the final phase will be rewarded with a place in the EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series, which will determine the sole Spanish representative to attend the FIFA eWorld Cup and battle it out to be named the best FIFA player in the world.

The top four PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers will also be vying to pocket the following prize money: the winners will receive €3,000 each and the runners-up stand to earn €1,500, whilst the gamers finishing third and fourth on each platform will land themselves €750.
