Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make history with Real Madrid.
He became the club’s all-time leading scorer earlier this season, and on Tuesday, when Malmo visited the Bernabeu, he rattled in four goals in an 8-0 rout of the Swedish side. That made him the leading scorer in the history of the group stages with 11 from six games.
Ronaldo improved on his previous group-stage record of nine goals from last season, which he had held jointly with Brazil’s Luiz Adriano.
He joins Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas as the only Real Madrid players to have scored four goals in a UEFA Champions League match.
Ronaldo already holds a single-season record 17 goals in the Champions League from the 2013-14 campaign when Madrid secured a 10th European title.
