Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded the prize for 'Best Player in the 2013-14 Liga BBVA' in the 2014 LFP Awards Ceremony, recognising him as the most complete footballer last season in the best league in the world.
Real Madrid's season, in which the club claimed two titles, was once again spearheaded by the Portuguese forward. The Whites number 7 showed all his voracity up front, his leadership on the field and his abilities as a total footballer.
He was the top scorer in the competition with 31 goals, earning him the Golden Boot last season. The player's goal tally demonstrates his ability in front of goal, considering he scored them in 30 games, for an average of 1.03 goals per match. Last season's was the Portuguese international's second Golden Boot wearing the Real Madrid shirt.
Another milestone that the footballer reached last season was to become the fifth highest goal-scorer in the history of Real Madrid when he bagged a brace against Getafe CF to put him on 209 goals in 204 games for the Whites, overtaking club legend Hugo Sánchez.
"I have a hat-trick of awards, it is spectacular. I'd like to thank my
teammates, without them I wouldn't have been able to score so many goals.
I'd also like to thank my girlfriend, my family and the fans. I'd like to be
back next year and to keep winning awards. That is why I dedicate myself one
hundred per cent, to win team trophies and also individual ones. I have had
