Comeback and victory for Real Madrid

Real Madrid CF beat Real Sociedad with goals from James Rodríguez, Sergio Ramos and a brace by Karim Benzema. The match began shakily for the Whites as the Basque side went ahead in the first minute, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men drew level in the 3. When they went ahead, Real Madrid took control of the game and managed to take th'e three points to keep their Liga BBVA top spot.

In the first move of the game, Yuri Berchiche got away from various opponents and forced a corner that led to a headed goal by Aritz Elustondo. Two minutes later, the Whites equalised thanks to a pass by Marcelo that went right into the heart of the area and was tucked away with a brilliant James Rodríguez header.

In the early stages of the game, Sergio Canales also had a great opportunity to put the visitors ahead although his shot narrowly missed. Half an hour into the game, the 2-1 arrived following a Rulli save that was chased down by Sergio Ramos. The home side continued to try and increase the margin, Gareth Bale missed a clear chance five minutes from the break following a great counterattack by Benzema.

Following the restart, Ancelotti’s men were quick to score their third of the game. Benzema got the game, and he was the star player in the game, scoring two goals which mean that he has now overtaken Fernando Hierro in Real Madrid's list of all-time leading goalscorers. The French player is on 128 goals, and in 12th place overall. The second goal from the Whites' '9' was a great right footed shot from an Isco Alarcón pass that left the final score at 4-1.
