Spain’s top-flight football league, and Cody’s Energy, Côte d'Ivoire’s largest selling energy drink and one of the most visible FMCG brands in the country, today signed an agreement to design a special edition of its products in Côte d'Ivoire market.
The brand has designed a special edition of its products with LaLiga Santander, which will be on sale exclusively in Côte d'Ivoire until the end of the 2023 season. Cody's Energy has been present on the market for about 15 years and is appreciated by Ivorian consumers for being the perfect combination: passionately trendy, unmatched low price and unmistakably German.
The energy drink brand is produced by renowned German manufacturers – using the best ingredients and adhering to the strictest quality requirements. It is already available in normal and light versions in shops and supermarkets throughout Côte d'Ivoire. During this season, Ivorian consumers will be able to continue to enjoy the unique taste and superior quality of Cody's with every sip and enjoy the agreement that will see the flavors of the famous German quality promoted in Côte d'Ivoire through the beautiful game of football.
As Jai Gurbani, local representative of Cody’s stated: "Cody’s Energy is the drink for fun and sport. As LaLiga is the most popular football league in Côte d’Ivoire we are sure this agreement will be very promising. The organization and Cody's brand share the same values. They stand for sport, power, and team play. We want to get closer to our customers and meet them in the best possible way. For this goal we could not imaging a better partner than LaLiga. "
Cody's and LaLiga have entered this strategic deal by agreeing on a license that connects the two entities until the end of next season. This alliance will be effective now and will last until June 2023.
According to Ramata Thiam, LaLiga's delegate in Côte d'Ivoire: "Côte d'Ivoire is a key market and this licensing agreement allows two large entities, Cody's and LaLiga, to establish synergies in the country. Through this agreement, we can both continue to strengthen our identifying traits, our commitment to quality and the values of sport."
A strategic alliance in the world of sport between two major brands
With this licensing agreement, LaLiga once again underlines how important it is to build associations with other major brands, those that strengthen and increase the visibility of the organization and its football clubs inside and outside the Spanish borders.
As for Cody's, this collaboration underlines its links with one of the greatest passions of Ivorians: sport and Spanish football. In addition, it makes the company's competitive framework much more global and in line with new international consumer trends. The company reinforces its objective of sustainable and profitable growth in the coming years and reaching thousands of new homes, thanks to this new license and the 360º communication plan that will involve a major external and point-of-sale promotional campaign in Côte d'Ivoire from December 15.
