Real Zaragoza beat Real Sporting de Gijón 2-3 in a Liga Adelante matchday 20 thriller.
The side from Aragon could not have had a better start to the match. After just three minutes, Roger Martí made it 0-1 after receiving a headed pass from Javier Barkero and getting the better of goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar. The goal only served to encourage the home team, who dug deep in search of an equaliser. After Leo Franco, Zaragoza's keeper, stopped Sporting from getting their just deserts three times, in the end it was Nacho Cases who managed to beat the Argentinian when the clock read 35.
The second half was equally as enthralling. Sergio Álvarez made it 2-1 soon after the break, but moments later Sporting lost a player as Luis Hernández was sent off for two yellows. The visitors, now outnumbering their opponents, did not take long to draw level, doing so through Paco Montañés in the 58th minute. There was further bad news for the team from Asturias as Iván Hernández and Nacho Cases both received their marching orders, and despite the fact that Cuéllar saved a penalty, he was unable to do anything about Sergio Cidoncha's decider in the dying minutes.
