China welcomes Atlético's Board of Directors

Club Atlético de Madrid continue to expand their brand across the globe. For the first time since the capital increase in March, the club held the Board of Directors meeting outside of Spain. The Wanda Movie Park theme park, located in the Chinese city of Wuhan, was the venue chosen to host the event, which took place on Tuesday 23 June.

As well as the meeting being an unprecedented event in the rojiblanco club's history, it was also the first time Zhang Lin acted in his role of adviser, as it was the first time the Board had come together following Wanda Group’s decision to become actively involved with the Madrid outfit. 

Enrique Cerezo, the club president, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, the chief executive, Antonio Alonso, the vice-president, board members Óscar Gil and Clemente Villaverde, and Pablo Jiménez de Parga, the board secretary, made up part of the large expedition that travelled to China to represent the Madrid entity.

Ever since this corporate conglomerate presided by Lin became a shareholder of the club two months ago, Atlético de Madrid have made a big effort to promote their name by internationalising their image in the powerful Asian market.
