Celta start their LaLiga World tour

Real Club Celta de Vigo have set out on their LaLiga World tour. Over the coming days the Galicians will continue their pre-season preparations in Uruguay, where on Thursday, at 17:30 local time (22:30 CET) they will take on Deportivo de la Coruña. It will be the first derby ever to take place outside Spain and will be played at the Estadio Gran Parque Nacional, the home of Club Nacional de Football.

The expeditionlanded in Montevideo early in the morning but it didn't stop fans from arriving at the aiport to greet their heroes. “We're really excited to be here in Uruguay. We hope the Celta fans here will be able to enjoy watching our football," said Celta goalkeeper Sergio Álvarez.

“It's an honour to be able to have a chat with the coaching staff and the players”, said one of the fans who had gone to the airport to greet the team, “it's incredible something like this can happen.” The derby isn't the only game awaiting Celta in the Uruguayan capital. On Saturday at 16:00 local time (21:00 CET), also in the Estadio Gran Parque Central Nacional, they will take on Club Nacional de Football. This will be the second and final LaLiga World game in Uruguay for Berizzo's men.
