Cali enjoys the first encounter of LaLiga World

A celebration of football in the stadium of Deportivo Cali. More than 12,000 people attended the first match of the LFP World Challenge tour of the malagan side around South America with Copa Euroamericana. A collision that made the Colombian support echo around the stadium, excited for their team and also for the presence of a LaLiga team.

The Colombians of Deportivo Cali, already immersed in their season, and with better rhythm than those of Javi Gracia, managed to win the title of Copa Euroamericana. They did it thanks to goals from Casierra, Benedetti and Murillo. Charles and Duje Cop scored the goals for Malaga.

At the end of the game, 'Duda' confessed that Deportivo Cali "had a better rhythm". "We must continue working so that when LaLiga starts we are fine" affirmed the Captain of the Andalusian side. Also, the defender Miguel Torres emphasised that it will be "a very well worked tour, with matches that are going to be difficult".

In a display of warmth and cordiality between the two clubs, commemorative plaques were exchanged at half time of the event together with LaLiga and DirectTV, the organisers of the match. The general director of Malaga CF, Vicente Casado, referred to this event of LFP World Challenge as "something very important for Malaga, to exchange cultures". Alvaro Martinez Botero, president of the Colombian club, also emphasised the presence of LaLiga "for Deportivo Cali it is an honour that a team from LaLiga is visiting us".

After this first encounter of LaLiga World, Malaga set off for Buenos Aires, where they will begin preparations for a match against the champions of Copa Libertadores 2014, the club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro (Friday 31st of July, 01:30 in the morning in Spain).
