Real Madrid CF beat Málaga CF 2-0 in the opening match of Liga BBVA matchday nine, thanks to goals from Ángel di María and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite the Andalusian outfit's defeat, the star of the match was the visitors' keeper, Willy Caballero. The Argentinian shot-stopper put in remarkable performance, with an extraordinary exhibition of reflexes and great saves to stop the Whites time and time again. Only a cross-come-shot from Di María in the 46th minute, which bounced before crossing the line, and a penalty in injury time from Ronaldo, were able to unlock the Andalusian team's goal.
The result means that Real Madrid stays in third place with 22 points. For its part, Málaga is provisionally tenth, with nine.
