At the heart of Granada CF last season was the work done by Yacine Brahimi, which has seen him become the 'Best African Player in the 2013-14 Liga BBVA'. The Algerian beat off competition from his teammate in Andalusia, Youssef El-Arabi and Stéphane M'Bia.
The player, who now plies his trade with FC Porto, made his debut for Algeria in March 2013, and played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He arrived in Liga BBVA in 2012 and in two years became an important player at the Estadio de Los Cármenes.
He took a lot of the attacking burden for the Andalusian side upon himself. His speed and electricity saw him become a very dangerous player for opponents, especially when he linked up with his teammate El-Arabi, who was also nominated for this prize.
