AD Fafe 1-1 R. Sporting
The Asturian side got their pre-season fixture list underway against Portugal's AD Fafe in the town ofArcos de Valdevez. Around 100 fans were in attendance to see Victor Rodriguez open the scoring with an eighth-minute header after being found by Lillo. Sporting held on to their lead going into the break and carved out several opportunities to add to it after the restart, with the clearest chances falling to Burgui and Carlos Carmona. As it was, however, Daniel Jorge Barbosa Ramos, better known as Materazzi, equalised for Fafe in the latter stages and it finished 1-1.
Real Union 0-1 SD Eibar
Eibar hit the ground running in their first pre-season run-out, breaking the deadlock just seven minutes in. Pere Milla it was who bagged what turned out to be the winning goal from a Bebe assist. It was a keenly contested match despite its friendly status and there were openings at both ends, yet the 1-0 scoreline remained intact at half-time. No further goals followed in a second half that did yield plenty by way of entertainment, as Eibar got their programme off to a winning start.
Real Betis 2-1 Middlesbrough
The Andalusians were braced for a stern test in their third pre-season encounter, against Middlesbrough, and so it turned out. Betis were able to get their noses in front through Dani Ceballos and went into the interval a goal to the good. Ruben Castro made it 2-0 in the second period, but Boro did not let their heads drop and rallied, reducing the deficit through Jordan Rhodes in the 73rd minute. Nevertheless, Gustavo Poyet's men managed to see the game out to rack up a third straight triumph.
