Benzema has suffered a sprain to his right knee

New injury for Real Madrid. In addition to the absences of Gareth Bale and Luka Modrić over the coming weeks for the Whites, they will also have to contend with an injury to Karim Benzema. The club's medical report confirmed that he has suffered a sprain to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee.

The injury is the same as the one that will keep Modrić out of action for approximately six weeks, however progress of the forward’s condition will be monitored. The news comes just before the important game that Real Madrid will play against Atlético Madrid in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The French player will not be playing and he will also miss the next Liga BBVA game against RC Celta.
