BBVA Awards: Nuno, Liga BBVA Manager of the month for February

Valencia's growth has been unstoppable since Nuno Espírito Santo was appointed as head coach. Their four victories in February, over RCD Espanyol, Getafe CF, Córdoba CF and Real Sociedad, have lead to the Portuguese coach earning the BBVA Award for Manager of the Month for February, chosen by LFP.es and awarded by BBVA, the competition’s main sponsor.

The 12 points from their four games were vital to Los Chémoving into the fourth spot in the Liga BBVA, which includes a place in the play-offs of next season’s UEFA Champions League. Valencia have also managed to cut the gap between themselves and Atlético Madrid in third spot to just 54 points. Valencia scored eight goals in February, four which came from the feet of Argentine forward Pablo Piatti, while conceding just two goals, highlighting Valencia’s strengths in attack as well as defence.
