BBVA Awards: Nuno, best manager in September

Nuno Espírito Santo (São Tomé and Príncipe, 25 January 1974) has received the Liga BBVA Manager of the Month award for September. Valencia CF's Portuguese manager produced a near perfect record in his first month in the Spanish topflight. In the seven matches played so far, the side managed by Nuno has won five, drawn two and lost none.

The team's second place in the Liga BBVA is largely thanks to Nuno's system, which has taken the Ché to within two points of the leaders, FC Barcelona, after a month and half of competition. Their attacking football and solid defending has earned them 17 goals while only conceding four.

Valencia's football early in the campaign has their fans dreaming of a special season. With Nuno at the helm, Paco Alcácer has shown his true colours, André Gomes has had a sensational start, while Otamendi is proving to be a defender any team would want in their rear-guard. The Portuguese coach is doing a commendable job of getting the best out of all of his players.
