Rayo Vallecano 0-4 Real Betis

Some wins are worth more than three points. Take Betis's rampant victory in Vallecas, for example. Four second-half goals – a brace from Bea Parra and one apiece from Yaiza Relea and Irene Guerrero – not only secured the spoils for Maria Pry's side, but also mathematically guaranteed their Liga Iberdrola survival in some style. Beaten Rayo, for their part, remain in the Copa de la Reina berths with three matchdays to go.

Levante UD 0-3 Atletico Madrid

Las Rojiblancas kept up their side of the bargain to return to the summit and throw down the gauntlet to title rivals Barça ahead of the Catalans' postponed clash with Oiartzun. The sending-off of Sonia Prim in the 38th minute gave fourth-placed Levante a mountain to climb and Atletico took full advantage of their numerical superiority, forging ahead on the stroke of half-time thanks to a brilliant bit of improvisation from Priscila Borja, who flicked home acrobatically from a corner. Sonia Bermudez and Esther Gonzalez settled the contest after the interval.

Santa Teresa CD 1-3 F. Albacete

An Alicia Muñoz double and an Alba Redondo effort fired Albacete to a hugely important victory in their bid for survival, although they stay second from bottom. Estefania Lima was on the scoresheet for mid-table Santa Teresa, whose Copa de la Reina hopes are fading.

Zaragoza CFF 0-1 UD Tacuense

The 'new manager bounce' was in evidence in Zaragoza, where Emiliano Hernandez's team pulled off an upset in his first fixture at the helm. Celia Ruano's solitary strike proved enough to clinch a third win of the season for Tacuense, although it was not enough to lift the Canary Islanders off the foot of the table.

Real Sociedad 2-0 Athletic Club

La Real claimed bragging rights with their first triumph against Basque rivals Athletic in seven years. It was an extremely competitive, high-octane encounter – as was to be expected – with challenges flying in and chances going begging at both ends. The breakthrough didn't come until the 86th minute, when Itxaso Uriarte headed home a free-kick, and then Nahikari Garcia put the game to bed in stoppage time with a fine finish on the counter-attack. The result takes Igor San Miguel's side above Rayo and makes them a virtual certainty to qualify for the Copa de la Reina.

RCD Espanyol 2-1 Sporting Huelva

Eli del Estal continues to come up with crucial goals for Espanyol and fuel their belief that they can avoid relegation. With 80 minutes played, Sporting led 1-0, only for Del Estal to pop up twice in quick succession (on 82' and 85') to turn the game around and take her tally to three in as many matches. As a result, the Catalans keep their necks above water.

Granadilla Egatesa 1-3 Valencia CF

Valencia remain firmly in the groove. Cristian Toro's charges collected another impressive victory to stretch their unbeaten streak to 16 games. Las Che, who haven't lost since succumbing in the derby at the Ciutat de Valencia, wrapped up the spoils in the first half, with Joyce Magalhaes, Yanara Aedo and Mari Paz Vilas putting them three goals to the good. Luana Spindler grabbed a late consolation.

FC Barcelona v Oiartzun KE
