Diego Simeone's men are Down Under. After a flight that took them across oceans and continents, the Atletico Madrid expedition arrived in the city of Melbourne, where they will be playing two friendlies this week.
The Rojiblancos have embarked on their latest LaLiga World experience, having previously travelled to Japan and China in 2015 and to the United States in 2014 as part of the programme. This Australian pre-season adventure will feature tune-up matches against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday and local side Melbourne Victory on Sunday.

Atletico defender Diego Godin spoke of the trip in the following terms: "It'll be my first time in Australia, I'm sure it's a really beautiful country. From the two games we'll be looking to get minutes under our belts and build on the fitness levels we've attained over the past few weeks."
Simeone's charges continue their pre-season preparations in Melbourne – against a backdrop of cool temperatures and towering skyscrapers – after having spent several weeks at a training camp in Los Angeles de San Rafael, Segovia. In addition to the two friendly fixtures, the Rojiblancos are scheduled to stage a number of training sessions during their time Down Under, as they continue their fine-tuning ahead of the start of the LaLiga Santander season.
