Atletico Madrid thrill youngsters at LaLiga Women event

Bring together a group of 12-year- old girls, a football and the Atletico Madrid Women's squad and you’re onto a winner. These were the three ingredients which came together this morning at the training pitches at Ljunkan IP as the Rojiblancas lined up alongside IFK Wreta Kloster Under-12s. 

After having completed training, Angel Villacampa’s squad took centre stage as they laid on a training clinic for the aspiring footballers. Dazzled by through balls from Silvia Meseguer, inviting crosses served up by Andrea Falcon and getting to try their luck against Lola Gallardo in goal, the Wreta Kloster youngsters were in dreamland. 

First up it was time for everyone to introduce themselves, this was then followed by a warm-up routine before getting down to action. The session featured rondos (keep- ball circles), shooting practice and passing drills, before things were wrapped up with a game. Club captain Amanda Sampedro and Woman of the Match in yesterday’s victory over Linkopings Fotboll Club, Sonia Bermudez took their places alongside the rest of the Atletico squad and the budding footballers to form four formidable teams. 

The event was concluded with the Atletico players posing for photographs and signing autographs on a morning which saw the Rojiblancas help to make many dreams come true.
