Before the Liga BBVA game against RC Celta de Vigo at the Estadio Vicente Calderón, Club Atlético de Madrid’s players wore t-shirts in aid of the new Fundación Atlético de Madrid and Spanish Heart Foundation campaign. It was created following the recent ‘World Heart Day’ celebrations, fronted by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
People are reminded it is important to maintain healthy habits to prevent heart disease, the most common cause of death in the world. It was brought to the attention of those present at the Vicente Calderón, and to football fans in general, that through a balanced diet and physical exercise heart disease can be prevented.
Atlético, through their foundation, gave out 35,000 informative flyers to spectators at the game. Club President Enrique Cerezo hosted the Spanish Heart Foundation President Leandro Plaza in his box at the Madrid side’s stadium.
