Atletico Madrid arrive in Italy for second leg of their LaLiga World tour

Some 300 local fans packed out the exit at Lamezia Terme International Airport and watched on excitedly as Atletico Madrid arrived in Italy, their second LaLiga World destination of the summer. The Rojiblancos have made the journey to face FC Crotone in their latest tune-up game, which will take place at Cosenza's Stadio San Vito-Gigi Marulla at 20:00 CET.

Following their trip to Australia, where they played matches against Tottenham Hotspur FC and Melbourne Victory FC, Diego Simeone's men will continue their pre-season preparations by testing themselves against the Italian outfit.

The Madrid club is once again flying the flag for Spanish football overseas under the umbrella of LaLiga World, a programme that is part of the LFP World Challenge project, through which LaLiga has stepped up Spanish football's expansion and internationalisation strategy.
