Valencia CFRodrigo and Nani (both injured)

Match Facts:

Atletico Madrid (5th, 46 pts)

- After labouring to a 1-1 draw with RC Deportivo at Riazor last time out, Los Rojiblancos simplyhave to start firing on all cylinders again. Not only have they all but waved goodbye to their title hopes, but they have fallen out of the top four after Real Sociedad triumphed at the Benito Villamarin.

- An Atleti win would be their fourth straight over Valencia and match their best-ever run against them, which came from 1975 to 1977. It would also stretch Diego Simeone's undefeated home record against Los Che in LaLiga Santander to six games (W2 L3).

Valencia (13th, 29 pts)

- This will be Valencia's last visit to the Vicente Calderon. As it so happens, theyfeatured in the opening match at the stadium, then known as the Estadio Manzanares, on 2 October 1966. It was a LaLiga fixture and it finished 1-1, with none other than Luis Aragones scoring the first goal at the venue.

- "Beating Real Madrid showed that we can beat anyone. We'll have to perform to a really high level if we're to take any points off Atletico, but we're just going to carry on what we've been doing and try to compete," said Los Che boss Voro ahead of the clash.
