Getafe and Villarreal played out an exciting 1-1 draw at the Alfonso Pérez in matchday 31 of Liga BBVA. Despite the fact that the Madrid outfit had a number of efforts, Ikechukwu Uche and Sergio Asenjo were both decisive in the final score.
It was Getafe who came close first. Pedro León sent a ball flying just wide from a free kick, however from there on both sides started creating chances, however the excitement did not bring about any goals. Gerard Moreno, with a left-footed effort skimmed the post, while Uche had Villarreal's best chances, but they went in at the break 0-0.
The second half had barely started when the Castellón side grabbed their goal. A Mehdi Lacen foul resulted in a penalty, which Uche dispatched. This goal saw the home side wake up, and minutes later Diego Castro levelled things up. Getafe continued to press, and might have won the game, however a top performance from Sergio Asenjo in goal meant that the scoreline remain the same and both sides went home with a point.
