RC Celta and Real Madrid face off in the game corresponding to matchday 33 of the Liga BBVA. Both sides have not stopped racking up points since their respective games against FC Barcelona, and are enjoying one of the best periods of the season as they aim to meet their targets at the end of the season. Celta are in ninth place and have not lost in three consecutive games and will be aiming to keep up their run against a Madrid side who need three points in order to fight to the very end for the league title. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have won their last four games, therefore a close battle can be expected between the Vigo and Madrid sides.

Team news

The Galician side will be without David Costas due to a technical decision as well as Nemanja Radoja, Carles Planas and Borja Oubiña due to injury. Carlo Ancelotti will not have Gareth Bale, Luka Modrić and Karim Benzema available as none of them have been able to recover from their injuries in time.

Thoughts from the dugout

For Eduardo Berizzo, the key for a possible win will depend on his side remaining “faithful” to their style of play “with a lot of intensity” and “working together to recover the ball”. “The key to the game will be how we are able to take the ball off them and where we do that on the pitch” added the Celta coach. The manager of the Whites also spoke about his opponents: "Celta are a good side, they showed that against Atlético and Barcelona. Physically we need to really perform and impose our style of play on the game”.
