Match Facts:

RC Deportivo (15th, 17 pts):

- Deportivo have only won two of their last seven clashes with Villarreal in LaLiga Santander, drawing one and losing four. Their most recent victory came in the shape of a 2-0 success at El Madrigal last season.

- The club is aiming to rack up three consecutive home wins at Riazor for the first time since December 2010. After getting the better of Real Sociedad and CA Osasuna on home soil in December, the Galician side are looking to make it a hat-trick against Villarreal.

Villarreal CF (5th, 30 pts):

- Since Fran Escriba took over the helm at the start of the season, the Yellow Submarines have only tasted defeat on the road twice in LaLiga Santander, against Athletic Club and SD Eibar.

- The visitors have the best defence in the division, conceding just 12 goals so far this campaign, and only Bayern Munich can better their record in the top European leagues, with the German champions' defence breached a mere nine times.
