Real Madrid CF beat Getafe CF 0-3 on their visit to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on matchday 24 of the Liga BBVA. The win means that the Whites hold on to their second place in the table, level on points with FC Barcelona and Club Atlético de Madrid. Luis García's team, for their part, failed to find the peace of mind they had hoped for and they still lie four points away from the relegation zone.
Carlo Ancelotti's men dominated the match from kick-off and in the 5th minute of the game Jesé Rodríguez, who has now scored five Liga BBVA goals, put the visitors in front after a delightful tackle from Xabi Alonso. Karim Benzema was the architect of Real Madrid's second after a well-worked team counterattack that gave the Whites breathing space before the break.
In the second half, just when Getafe were starting to play, Luka Modric scored the final goal to make it 0-3 and put the match to bed. The win means Real Madrid pick up three vital points in order to continue in the fight for the Liga BBVA title.
